Anyone else get strong JFK vibes from this guy?  

Not so much in the dictatorial stuff but rather that they were both murdered in a coup d'etat by a cabal of elitists operating from within the government, were immensely beloved by the people, and their murders precipitated the fall of once-great republics.    

I don't remember who said it but there's a famous quote that goes something along the lines of "After Caesar was killed, nobody knew it, but the Republic had already been doomed".
